Welcome to
Spencer Pet Rescue

A Rescue built on 2nd Chances, Healing, & Hope

We specialize in saving at-risk dogs. Dogs who are struggling in the shelter system and are at-risk of euthanasia. We pull those dogs out for specialized programs based on their needs so that they:

  • can heal from their past trauma

  • find new hope that it doesn't have to be like their past

  • and get a second chance at their best life

It started with my foster dog, Darla. She was found tied to a pole in East St. Louis with a battered face, a broken hip, broken knees and malnourished. A rescue took her in. They saved her! I fostered her through her surgeries, but unfortunately some trust/stranger danger issues came up. She had two close calls while back at the shelter and was on the euthanasia list. They gave me a chance to adopt her, to save her once again. I took it and am getting her the help she needs through a good loving home and training.  She has now passed basic obedience level 1.

This is all too common and so it is our mission to save these dogs. Not all rescued dogs are happy-go-lucky. They have issues due to the trauma they have suffered, due to being in the shelter system for too long, etc. and they need help.

Please join us in our new mission in giving these babies healing, hope, and a 2nd chance.
